Pilates was first introduced to my life a little over 12-years ago when I developed a severe back injury when completing pre-professional dancer training. With a passion for movement, the transition into Pilates felt very natural and not only helped the injury, but was a way for me to continue moving and strengthen my core. The Pilates practice has given me a thorough understanding of the body and the way that us us as individuals move. I am extremely passionate about the knowledge that I have gained over the past 25-years working with the body, and am inspired to share this with others to help with their physical and mental journeys.
Background on Pinot Pilates
A few years ago, I started an event’s company called Eight Elements. With the impacts of Covid-19 and lockdown restrictions, I was forced to temporarily close Eight Elements and increased my workload in the virtual Pilates space. The response to wellness during this time was incredibly motivating for me, and thus I found myself teaching and practicing Pilates more frequently among individuals and corporates alike.
With a bottle of Pinot in hand one locked-down Friday, the concept of Pinot Pilates was born. Beginning as a virtual event combining wine and movement. The session incorporated not just instructional Pilates but welcomed discussions around favourite wines, coping mechanisms to get through isolation and beautiful positive community (with a few light-hearted laughs, of course!).
From there, Pinot Pilates has transformed into a community of movement, strength and happiness.
